Dr. Jakeer Hussain Shaik is a highly respected academician and researcher, currently serving as the Professor and Dean of Engineering at Mother Teresa Institute of Science and Technology, Sathupally. With a Ph.D. from the prestigious National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT Rourkela), his expertise lies in the fields of Machine Design, Machining Dynamics, and Advanced Manufacturing Techniques. He brings over 15 years of academic and research experience to his role, during which he has significantly contributed to both teaching and research in Mechanical Engineering.
Dr. Shaik’s research interests are diverse and cutting-edge, covering areas such as dynamic modeling of spindle-tool systems, machining stability analysis, and the application of machine learning algorithms in predictive maintenance and process optimization. His extensive research on machining dynamics and spindle design has led to several publications in internationally reputed journals, including those indexed by Elsevier, Springer, and Scopus. In addition, his work has been widely recognized for its practical applications in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of modern manufacturing processes.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Shaik has received several accolades and fellowships, including an international visiting fellowship at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, where he collaborated on advanced research projects in mechanical system dynamics and vibration control. His global exposure has enriched his teaching and research methodologies, and he continues to integrate international best practices into the Indian academic landscape.
As a mentor and guide, Dr. Shaik has supervised numerous Ph.D. and M.Tech students, particularly in the areas of spindle design, chatter mitigation, and high-speed machining. His supervision and guidance have enabled his students to secure successful careers in academia and industry. He is also known for organizing and leading conferences, workshops, and seminars on contemporary issues in manufacturing and mechanical engineering, fostering knowledge exchange between academia and industry.
Dr. Shaik’s contributions to the field of engineering extend beyond academia. He holds multiple patents related to innovative mechanical systems and processes, reflecting his commitment to practical and impactful research. He has also been an active reviewer and editorial board member for various international journals, where his expertise is sought to evaluate and refine cutting-edge research.
